Makeup is not just restricted to the fairer sex and has very much made invaded the male territory. More and more grooms are going for a makeover on their wedding day by donning makeup. Many salons are now offering pre-wedding grooming packages for men along with the wedding day makeup.
Makeup for men has to be done very carefully as it should look natural and not over-the-top. The pre-wedding groom packages take care of the skin problems and hydration levels. On the D day, a thorough clean-up is given and then a good moisturizer is applied. If the groom is has a beard, it is properly trimmed. The makeup starts with the application of concealer to hide the acne marks, dark circles under the eyes and other spots. A foundation matching the skin tone of the groom is then applied and blended well for a flawless look. Foundation is selected depending upon the skin type of the groom and also the weather. While oily skin requires powder or water-based foundation, for men with drier skin, oil0based moisturizers are used. Next, contouring and highlighting are done to highlight the facial features like the cheekbones and chin. A little highlighter can also be applied to the lower portion of the eyebrows to make the eyes stand out. Kajal or eyeliner is applied as a very thin line so that a natural look is created while enhancing the beauty of the eyes. This makes the face more photogenic. A subtly tinted lip balm moisturizes the lips and adds a little colour. Finally, the makeup is sealed off with a good finishing spray.
